Where are the most beautiful places in the world?

Beauty is a subjective trait — what is beautiful to one person may be detestable to another.

I’ve picked five of the most beautiful spots on Earth to highlight. This list is a mix of man made and natural beauty and contains five sites that no one could argue with.

Looking for a vacation to a truly unforgettable location? Any one of these spots would be the trip of a lifetime.

The Grand Canyon

Which Diet Aids Work?

Which diet aids work?

The only FDA approved diet aid that works is Alli. This used to be a prescription medication, but it’s now available over the counter. Alli works by blocking the body’s absorption of up to 25% of the fat ingested at meals. Unlike some other diet aids, prescription or not, Alli doesn’t work on the mind or the metabolism. The weight loss help is provided by Alli’s effect on the digestive system. Alli has some uncomfortable digestive side effects, especially in users who don’t reduce their fat intake. (Think loose, greasy stools.)

Other over the counter diet…

What Is a “Body Mass Index”?

“BMI” stands for “body mass index” and is a measure of how overweight a person is. A person’s B.M.I. tells if that person is overweight and, if so, whether that person is obese. There are two ways to determine your BMI using height and weight in pounds.

One method of calculating BMI is to take your lbs and multiply them by 703. Then take your height in inches and square that number. Then divide the first number by the second number.

If you have a BMI of 25 to 30, you are considered overweight.…

Are tanning beds a cancer risk?

International cancer experts have determined, once and for all, that the use of tanning beds and any other device that transmits any kind of ultraviolet or UV radiation do cause cancer. How have they done this? By moving up tanning beds, sun lamps, and similar devices to “the highest risk category”, the same as very dangerous poisons, such as mustard gas.

The new classification for these devices is more than just a symbolic gesture. It means that there is now medical support for the belief that tanning beds and UV rays definitely cause…

Why did the Miss California Pageant director resign?

Shanna Moakler, one time Miss USA and current Miss California Pageant director, resigned Wednesday May 13, amid a whirlwind of controversy related to current Miss California Carrie Prejean. Miss Prejean made some controversial statements about gay marriage during the recent Miss USA pageant, followed by new that her statements probably led to her losing the Pageant, calls from the Religious Right that the Pageant misfired, and the apperance of several racy photos of Carrie Prejean topless and in her underwear. Controversy about the Miss USA pageant is nothing new — it…

Who won The Biggest Loser Season 7?

The controversial winner of this past season of The Biggest Loser is Helen Phillips. I saw controversial because fans of the show are lining up to complain about the outcome — most fans, it seems, wanted Tara Costa to win, and don’t mind sharing their feelings about Helen Phillips. One message board is full of terrible insults, from claims that Helen Phillips is “an uncaring mother”, while another fans calls her “selfish” and warns that “what goes around comes around”. Obviously the victory of Helen Phillips was upsetting to many fans.

The Biggest…

Will Shirley Jones pose nude for Playboy magazine?

The short answer to this question is a resounding “No”. Shirley Jones never contacted Playboy magazine, and the magazine says they never contacted her about shooting a pictorial.

Rumors began to pop up all over the web last week — Shirley Jones, the 75 year old actress best known for her role as the matron of TV’s “The Partridge Family”, was planning on dropping the laundry for a Playboy photo shoot.

If Shirley Jones did appear in Playboy, she would be the oldest model in the magazine’s history by far. Runner up…
