Internet Advertising Tips
This post is a collection of Internet advertising tips and advice. People looking for online marketing ideas and strategy advice need look no further. Everything you need to know to get traffic to your website can be found here.
The great thing about Internet advertising is that it’s more or less free. (If you don’t mind spending some “sweat equity” anyway.) You can get your Internet advertisements in front of a lot of people if you’re willing to do one thing:
Write content.

Search engines are always looking for new content to show to their visitors, so if you write content, and lots of it, on a consistent basis, then search engines will send lots of visitors to your website. If you learn a little bit about search engine optimization, you can get even more visitors from the search engines without having to pay for them. And all of those visitors to your websites get exposed to your Internet advertisements.
So all of the Internet advertising tips in this article are going to focus on one thing. Writing content for the Internet.
Some people have stores where they think that there’s no real content to be written. All we do is sell ice cream. Or maybe all we do is sell donuts. Or maybe all we do is sell books. So what kind of content could we possibly put on a website about those subjects?
Let’s start with the donut store. Here are some Internet advertisment tips and strategies focused on writing content for a donut shop. First of all, if I’m running a donut store, I want to rank in the search engines for the name of the town I live in plus the phrase “donuts”. I also want to rank for stuff like “(name of my hometown) + bakery” and “(name of my hometown) + breakfast”, and mabe even “(name of my hometown) + restaurant”. So I’m going to create content that focuses on such things.
Once I finished with content like that, I’d start writing content about the different kinds of donuts we sell. I’d have an entire page describing our “blueberry donuts”, and I might even include my recipe. I’d have a message board where people could talk about what’s going on in our hometown, then they could create content for my site. I might even include information about the history of donuts, articles about how to make donuts at home, breakfast recipes, etc. Adding a page of content every day for a year to a site about donuts wouldn’t be hard at all if you showed a little bit of creativity.
Same thing with my ice cream store website. I’d write content about how ice cream is made, I’d offer ice cream recipes, and I’d include tips for how to serve ice cream at home. (Did you know that ice cream tastes better if you let it sit out on the counter for 15 minutes or so before you start to eat it?) I might even have a section on my ice cream site where customers could suggest flavors and recipes. And I’d make it easy for my customers to interact with me on the site, either via a forum or a blog where I accepted comments.
I run a book store already, and I have a site there. That’s one of the easiest sites to advertise on the Internet by writing content. All you have to do is write reviews of all the books in the store. You could also write biographies of the authors of these books. A discussion forum and a blog are both natural fits on a bookstore site.
Looking over this post, I can see that it doesn’t really include “Internet advertising tips” so much as it includes a single Internet advertising TIP. And that tip’s pretty straightforward: write content. Lots and lots of content.
