Default How often do you check your email?

I read The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss, and one of his better suggestion, I thought, was to only check your email twice a day. I remember working as a manager in corporate America that the sending and replying to email almost completely took over my day-to-day work life, and I can only imagine how much more actual "work" I could have gotten done if I had only checked my email once in the morning and once in the afternoon. But I still check my email throughout the day.

How often do you check your email?

Randy,

I'm guilty of overchecking my email.

I tested this question out today, making a little mark with a pencil every time I checked my email.

Its only 2:45 where I am, and I've already checked my inbox 13 TIMES today.

Granted, I'm trying to get in touch with a friend who just moved to town, but . . . this is getting ridiculous.

Wow - 13 times is a lot by 2:45pm, but I'm probably just as bad. I tend to use my inbox as my to-do list.

Default Guilty...

My girlfriend just pointed out the other day that I would get more done if I wasn't checking my email constantly throughout the day...... I don't know how often I check it, but way more than needed. Not to mention it's like a gateway drug for me...I look at my email, then some forums, then maybe some poker...no wonder the work piles up!

If you got rid of your girlfriend, you'd have even more time to check your inbox.
