At the moment, there are about 113 hotels in Las Vegas. Some of these Las Vegas hotels exist downtown, some Las Vegas hotels are found on the strip and some Vegas hotels are found “off the strip”. Between these hotels, there are over 100,000 hotel rooms found in Las Vegas.
This is to accomodate the huge number of tourists and gamblers who flock to Sin City at any given time. A steady stream of gambling tourists need accomodations at the Las Vegas hotels day-by-day and week-by-week. During special events like the World Series of Poker or the NBA All-Star Game, it can be hard to find a hotel room in the city that never sleeps – even with the huge number of major hotels in Las Vegas.
The majority of the most famous hotels in Las Vegas are found “on the strip”.
Number of Hotels on the Las Vegas Strip
So you might be asking: what’s the number of hotels on the Las Vegas strip?
There are 38 major hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. These hotels tend to average at least 1,000 rooms apiece, so you are looking at upwards of 40,000 hotel rooms on the Las Vegas Strip alone.
“The Las Vegas Strip” is a street off of the downtown area of Las Vegas where the most famous Sin City hotels can be found. Among the famous Las Vegas hotels on the strip are the Bellagio, where the World Series of Poker was hosted for several years; Wynn Las Vegas, named for famous Vegas real estate developer, Steve Wynn; Caesars Palace and the MGM Grand, both home to many championship boxing matches over the year; and Mandalay Bay Resort, one of the primary hotels & casinos in Las Vegas today. Occasionally, one of the older Las Vegas hotels will close down, and there will be a wave of nostalgia for the Las Vegas of old, when Elvis, the Rat Pack and the Mob were fixtures in the city.
How Many Casino Hotels in Las Vegas
There are around 95 casinos in Las Vegas, and the great majority of them are found in the bigger casino resorts. Most Las Vegas hotels on the strip have their own casinos, and many are called “hotels & casinos” or “hotels & resorts”, or even “hotel casino resorts”.
Many of the Las Vegas hotel casinos also have top-rate eating establishments. Many have multiple restaurants, including everything from 5-star dining to buffets. Most of the famous restaurants, nightclubs and attractions of Las Vegas are found outside the hotels, but you can find a number of famous shows in the Las Vegas strip hotels. For instance, Penn & Teller host their magical act at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Cirque Du Soleil at the Bellagio Hotel and Barry Manilow at the Hilton Las Vegas.
